What is 3D Projection Mapping ?

3D Projection Mapping is a technique that projects film onto physical, three-dimensional structures to create a visual-effect.

For Hampton Court we projected utensils onto the shelving (above right) and showed how the fire & spit rack worked, interpreting the rooms usage, while in another room we projected life-sized costumed characters into the walls, creating an immersive experience & bringing the space to life.

ay-pe produced two immersive, projection-mapped films as well as the graphics for the new Chocolate Kitchen at Hampton Court Palace, London.

The first film imaginatively interprets the rooms usage using animation, illustration and text.  The second film cleverly places

life-sized characters into the room showing the Georgian process

of chocolate making with added visual-effects.
