EXPERIENCE 01

'Living' doll's house interactive

Telling the story of the region from Medieval times to 1800s through a hybrid manual AV interactive. The visitor turns a handle connected to a ‘dolls house’ model (by Nick Runeckles), which causes miniature set-works to rotate within the house and triggers our corresponding film to that setwork, to play over the top of it. Using Pepper’s Ghost – our films were reflected onto sets, using a 24” LCD hidden screen.

EXPERIENCE 01

'Living' doll's house interactive

AY-PE scripted, produced, filmed, edited and post-produced the characters within the films – developing and testing with a prototype model of the doll’s house and set works. Through careful development, the films were created so that the characters were in the right position and alignment both for the backdrop of set-work furniture within the house, as well as for optimum viewing angles / access of the visitor who would be peering in.

EXPERIENCE 02

Animated shadow theatre

AY-PE illustrated and animated three tales in an enchanting shadow theatre style – layering silhouettes, shadows, night and depth perception alongside the style playful/ almost mischievous characters. The CGI, motion camera, graphic text, dusky effect and 2D set layering combined with our bespoke magical sound effects and narrated tale – creating 2-3 minute looping, projected animations – enthralling and immersing any audience type.

EXPERIENCE 03

Changing landscapes AR

AY-PE brought to life a table top map of Hertfordshire County through 3D Augmented Reality on iPad tablets. The AR map/ iPad learning resource enables up to six visitors to explore Hertfordshire County as it looked and evolved through different parts of history eg Prehistoric, Roman time etc – discovering how humans lived in those time periods, the terrain, animals, weather and buildings.

EXPERIENCE 04

Painting explorer

A 32” touchscreen interactive exploring the characters and the history of a Georgian, Samuel Lucas painting. We worked with Lucas’ artwork and his sketches to create an exciting exploration of the work. The user can flip between the original colour image and our alternative ‘highlighting’ designs – where the visitor can select between 25 characters of the street scene to find out about their history and Lucas’ art related to them.

EXPERIENCE 05

Day & Night Touchscreen

A touchscreen interactive where the visitor can swipe between our day and night illustrations – choosing which time of day they’d like to explore. Once selected, the user can delve into more information, images and sound recordings about creatures typically found in the garden at that time. All illustrations, UI, UX, pop-outs, zoom and audio functions were designed by AY-PE to appeal to a school-age visitor, but with enough detail and a clear, contemporary, friendly graphic design to appeal to all ages and demographics.
